2020 IHCA Foundation Grubb RN Scholarship
Scholarship criteria and information
Applicants for the IHCA Foundation Grubb RN Scholarship must meet all of the criteria listed below in order to qualify.
• At the time of application and at the time scholarships are awarded, the applicant must work for an IHCA member nursing facility, assisted living program, residential care facility, home health agency, home care provider or independent senior living community.
• Applicants must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited school of nursing RN degree program.
• Scholarships are for the 2020-21 academic year; therefore, applicants must be taking classes during the fall 2020 and/or spring 2021 semesters. This is a one-year scholarship that covers the cost of the course/program up to $3,000.
• Submit a complete application form, including 500-word essay, acceptance letter or transcript and two letters of recommendation.
• Includes possible additional retention bonus. Applicant must receive their RN degree and remain employed at an IHCA member organization for one-year following the receipt of their RN degree to receive a $2,000 retention bonus. (The entire $2,000 retention bonus will be paid on the one-year anniversary date of employment following the completion date of the RN degree. Requires an official transcript from educational institution that indicates RN degree completion and a signed letter from employer as proof of one-year employment anniversary date following the date of degree completion is reached and that the employer is an IHCA member in good standing.)
UPDATE: Complete applications with all requirements must be submitted by JUNE 5, 2020.
• The IHCA Foundation Board of Directors will judge qualified applications.
• Recipients will be notified of the results by July 6, 2020.
• Awarded scholarship funds are placed in the care of the recipient’s approved educational institution by approximately August 1, to be credited to the recipient’s tuition and/or fees in the 2020-2021 academic year. Any unused funds are to be returned to the IHCA Foundation.
