2024 IHCA Foundation Member Employee Scholarship

This $1,500 scholarship, made possible by the Iowa Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (IPALTC), IHCA Districts and Nurse Connect, is for employees of IHCA, ICAL and ICHC member organizations looking to advance their health care education. This year we are offering scholarships for employees interested in pursuing nursing, health care administration, or physical or occupational therapy programs. Scholarships are for the 2024-2025 academic year. A total of 13 scholarships are available. Applications for this scholarship program are now closed. Scholarship recipients will be announced in late July.

Scholarship criteria and information
Applicants for the IHCA Foundation Member Employee Scholarship must meet all the criteria listed below to qualify:

  • Work for an IHCA member nursing facility, assisted living program, residential care facility, home health agency, home care provider, continuing care retirement community or independent senior living community in good standing at the time of application and at the time the scholarships are awarded.
  • Enrolled or accepted in an accredited school of nursing, long-term care or health care administration program, physical or occupational therapy program, AA/AS/ADM, BA/BS/BSN, MS/MA, or MHA/MSN program, and taking classes during the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Submit a complete application form, including 500-word essay, acceptance letter or transcript and one letter of recommendation, by May 31, 2024. 

Scholarship award process 

  • The IHCA Foundation Board of Directors will judge qualified applications.
  • Recipients will be notified of the results by the end of July.
  • Awarded scholarship funds are placed in the care of the recipient’s approved educational institution by the end of August, to be credited to the recipient’s tuition and/or fees in the 2024-2025 academic year.
