MDS 201 – Advanced Strategies for MDS 3.0 and PDPM
Program Description
Building on foundational MDS knowledge, this training session delves deeper into the intricacies of MDS 3.0. You will learn how to complete the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process and integrate its findings into individualized care planning, including the creation of baseline care plans. We’ll also explore the connection between MDS assessment data and the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM), showing how resident information is used to calculate payment classifications for PPS assessments. Additionally, this training will provide a thorough understanding of how the MDS captures comprehensive data on a resident’s nursing and therapy needs, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) status, cognitive function, and behavioral concerns, all critical for delivering high-quality care and ensuring accurate reimbursement.
