Program Description
This comprehensive education session will guide long-term care staff through the essential elements of restorative nursing, focusing on key areas critical to providing high-quality care and maintaining compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Participants will explore:
- Restorative Nursing Requirements and Qualifications for Medicare and Medicaid: Understanding the specific regulatory requirements and qualifications needed to implement and maintain restorative programs that meet federal funding guidelines.
- Restorative Nursing Documentation and Meeting CMS Regulations: Best practices for documenting restorative nursing interventions to ensure compliance with CMS regulations and avoid potential deficiencies during surveys.
- Principles and Practices of Restorative Nursing: A deep dive into the core principles of restorative nursing, including the promotion of resident independence, maintaining function, and enhancing quality of life.
- Setting up Individual Resident Programs and a Facility-Based Program: Practical strategies for developing customized restorative programs tailored to individual resident needs and for creating a facility-wide program that supports consistent care and compliance.
This program will provide attendees with actionable insights to enhance their restorative nursing programs, improve outcomes, and stay aligned with regulatory expectations.

Rebekah Christoffersen, DPT, LSVT-BIG, serves as the Director of Clinical Services at Blue Stone Therapy, where she leads clinical initiatives to optimize therapeutic outcomes and elevate the quality of care. With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and specialized certification in LSVT-BIG, Rebekah brings an advanced skill set in treating movement disorders, particularly in the aging population. Her expertise and commitment to innovative care delivery drive her approach to therapy services, and her leadership fosters a culture of excellence and patient-centered care at Blue Stone Therapy.
Lisa Roederer RN, RAC-CT, QCP, ICP is a Nurse consultant and owner of Virtuous LTC Consulting Services. Lisa has 36 years of Acute Care and Long-Term Care experience. She has worked as a C.NA, Restorative Aide, LPN, RN, MDS Nurse, DON and has worked the past 15 years as a Corporate Nurse and as an independent Nurse Consultant.
