PRF Phase 4 and rural distribution application open; HRSA resources and webinars available

The Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Phase 4 and rural distributions application webpage is now live. It offers an array of guidance and new educational opportunities, including additional webinar dates in October. Notable materials are:

The application will close on Oct. 26, 2021, at 10:59 p.m. CST. Applications must undergo a number of validation checks before financial information is submitted. Providers are encouraged to begin their application as soon as possible to ensure they are able to meet the deadline. Information on the documents and information needed to apply can be found in the resources below.

In order to streamline the application process and minimize administrative burdens, providers will apply for both programs in a single application. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will also use existing Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program and Medicare claims data in calculating portions of these payments.

HRSA also updated its searchable FAQs and the FAQ document in PDF, adding Phase 4 and rural distribution eligibility and application FAQs, as well as new PRF Reporting FAQs.

HRSA webinar highlights

Last week, HRSA held the first of four application webinars. HRSA focused most of the presentation reviewing information which can be found in the application materials on the Future Payment webpage.

AHCA/NCAL has prepared a brief overview of key points HRSA staff noted during their presentation on the PRF Phase 4 and ARP rural allocations. AHCA/NCAL also has included preliminary application tips based upon the HRSA presentation. HRSA clarified a number of important points on its data sources for award, the rural distribution application and how the agency will define small, medium and large providers.
