Register for Social Services Conference next week

Attend IHCA’s Long-Term Care (LTC) Social Services Conference next Thursday, Aug. 29 in West Des Moines to advance your admission and discharge procedures, review Iowa code regarding social work practice, make the Medicaid eligibility process more effective and much more!

Participants will learn a 10-step task-based model of ethical decision making that will assist with challenges involving informed consent, advance directives and care planning for older adults with cognitive impairment.

The Medicaid eligibility process will also be discussed, including qualifications for approval, financial screening tools, advising for minimizing risk of denial and more.

Additionally, Lila Starr from Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) will explain what pre-admission screening and resident review (PASRR) is and why it is important, as well as review new tools for compliance in Iowa.
