CNA Class (September-October)

Western Home Communities is excited to offer our fall 2022 CNA class to eager, dependable and caring individuals that desire to become a CNA. This is an unique opportunity to start your career as a CNA- and get paid while learning! An ideal candidate has reliable transportation, is self-directed, organized, dependable, and is able to commit to the scheduling requirements. You will attend class for approximately 6 weeks and, upon successful completion of the class, be scheduled to take your written and skills CNA exams. Once you successfully pass your skills/written exams you will be guaranteed a CNA opportunity in one of our long-term care, skilled or home health care teams. You must apply for this opportunity to be considered, as well as attend an interview with our hiring team. You will truly make a difference in the lives of the people around you.
Start your career as a CNA & get paid while learning
Class will start September 13, 2022 and run through October 21st, 2022.
You must have open availability for in-person class Monday-Friday approximately 9am-3pm (schedule will be provided prior to start date)
What you’ll do:
You will train online, in the classroom, as well as in a clinical environment to prepare for the CNA exam
You will take the CNA exam (written/skills) upon completion of the class and, once certified as a CNA, provide CNA care to the residents of Western Home under the supervision of an LPN or RN
Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and support of your team
Provide physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, – using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
Assists with organizing, cleaning, laundry, meals and other assigned tasks
Promptly answer residents calls for assistance and provide compassionate care that is in alignment with their specific care plan
Chart resident interactions throughout shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team
Ensures that resident’s rights are adhered to
What you’ll need:
Must have schedule availability for in-person class time (Monday-Friday, 9a-3pm)
Upon completion of the course and exams you must have open availability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift (depending on available openings)
Reliable internet access and computer/laptop for accessing/completing course work
Virtual learning is self-directed- You must be able to organize your time to complete course work in the required timeframes.
Ability to commit to the CNA class for its duration, pass the course and successfully pass the CNA exam (in order to move into the role of a CNA or Home Health Aide)
Ability to complete the Prepare to Care CORE prerequisite training online
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
Strong commitment to serving others
Effective communication, both verbal and written
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required
