Dietary Manager/CDM
Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Dietary Manager/CDM to join Glen Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center community located in Urbandale, Iowa. Demonstrated success as a leader in similar settings is required of the Dietary Manager/CDM.
The Dietary Manager/CDM is directly responsible for establishing and maintaining all standards of quality, conduct, customer service, and productivity within the Food Services Department. The Dietary Manager/CDM maintains appropriate levels of staffing and food/supplies inventories and works within established budget guidelines. Promotes a thorough and continuous understanding among all employees of the importance of the Food Services Department to the quality of life for residents and prospective residents.
This is a Line Supervisor position. As such, Primary Duties and Responsibilities include innovate, plan, promote, and supervise a food service program that meets or exceeds the minimum of standards of quality and productivity as well as specialized diets for residents with specific needs. Recruit, hire, train, discipline & supervise a full complement of staff. Establish, document, direct & assist in general kitchen & dining room sanitation procedures, preparing schedules for all shifts for all kitchen & dining room staff & post in their work areas. Comply with any & all state, local or federal rules, regulations & licensing requirements related to health, safety (OSHA), & general operation of the Food Services Department. And, other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements include: High school graduation or equivalent, supervisory work experience in food service, or equivalent, of two years or more. Training & experience has been attained through formal training or on-the-job training in appropriate techniques of resident care including nutritional monitoring & assessment, general nutrition, food production & service, sanitation, safety & management. Good communication skills, verbal & written; English language skills adequate to allow communication with residents & staff & understand written and verbal instructions. Must be able to perform duties of Cook/Chef and prepare innovative & inviting meals for 75 people. Compassion for elderly & self-motivation are necessary, as well.
