Director of Nursing

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Nursing located at Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, IA. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. They will develop and implement policies and procedures, as well as evaluate the performance of nursing personnel. The Director of Nursing will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the designated areas within the organization.
• Assists the Nursing Home Administrator in conducting the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facilities.
• Assesses the quality of care rendered.
• Ensures that all nursing service staff are in compliance with their respective job descriptions. Initiates the development of policies and procedures in conjunction with the Nursing Home Administrator that govern nursing services and other services under his/her supervision.
• Participates in facility surveys made by authorized government and private agencies as requested by Administrator or Nursing Home Administrator.

• Participates in monitoring of variance reports, progress notes, order required state forms, nurse notes, and other documentation as required.
• Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
• Develop good communication with providers in resident care.

Qualifications
• Must be currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
• Graduate if an accredited school for professional nursing with at least two years of supervisory experience in a nursing environment.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Understanding of nursing home regulations and compliance
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
• Experience with electronic health records and other healthcare technology
