Director of Nursing (DON)

We are looking for a full-time Director of Nursing (DON) for our small town nursing home located in Fayette, Iowa.
*Plan for and direct the nursing care, treatments, procedures and other health-related services to meet residents’ needs and personal preferences
*Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and current nursing standards of practice.
*Oversee the recruitment/ hiring/ scheduling/ training/ and evaluation of nursing department employees to insure adequate numbers of qualified staff members are on duty at all times
*Oversee medical records in compliance with licensing and HIPAA and professional standards in conjunction the facility administrator
*Oversee admission and discharge reviews and decisions
*Other essential duties include assisting with the supervision, development and implementation of a written health care plan in cooperation with other disciplines in accordance with physician’s orders
On-call duties
Qualifications:
**Active Iowa Nursing, RN License
**Required – A minimum of one year of management experience, preferably in Geriatric Nursing
**Must have excellent oral and written communication skills specific to the English language
