Groundskeeper

Scottish Rite Park, Des Moines’ Premier Retirement Community, is looking for a Full-time Groundskeeper.
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining grounds of Scottish Rite Park property.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Mow the lawns
• Trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
• Clean grounds and remove litter
• Water shrubs, plants, etc.
• Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools and shears
• General Landscaping duties
• Must be available to work on-call as needed
• Maintaining sprinkler system
• Snow removal, shoveling of snow and spreading salt
• Under supervision of Director of Building Management
• Perform other duties as requested
Experience/Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Iowa Driver’s License and proof of good driving record
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator Training and Certification a plus
• Current CPO a plus
