Inpatient Director of Clinical Services
We’re looking for an experienced healthcare leader ready to provide oversight and expertise at the director level. As the Inpatient Director of Clinical Services, you will be responsible for leading implementation of strategic initiatives while providing clinical management oversight for ChildServe’s Long-Term Care Program and newly added Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
About the new Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU):
ChildServe’s new Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is set to open in spring 2022! The new Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit will include unique features that make it the only program of its kind in Iowa.
– This intensive rehabilitation program is designed for infants, children and young adults to regain daily living skills, strength, and independence after surgery, injury or accident.
– Our areas of rehabilitation expertise include: pediatric brain injury, multi-trauma, spinal cord injury, burn and wound, orthopedic, and post-NICU care.
– We provide access to cutting-edge rehabilitation technology found in few other places in the country.
– As ChildServe’s medical director and the only board-certified pediatric physiatrist in Iowa, Dr. Fred Klingbeil oversees treatment beginning while children are in the hospital and continuing throughout their time at ChildServe. Children who receive inpatient care can transition to ChildServe’s outpatient program when they’re ready to move home. This continuum of care results in more cohesive care for families and improved outcomes for children.
What You’ll Do:
– Supervise clinical leadership through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results and clinical credibility and promote engagement and satisfaction to drive staff retention.
– Provide direction and support for staffing needs and clinical structure for the Long-Term Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs.
– Establish and oversee Inpatient clinical standards of care, policies, procedures, and practices that promote the highest quality of care, in collaboration with other leaders of quality and safety.
– Responsible for clinical systematic processes for sustaining compliance with organizational policy and external regulations and accreditations.
– Collaborate with administrative leader to support educational, infection prevention, and quality improvement systems and initiatives within defined scope.
– Provide leadership and facilitates a positive relationship with external referral sources, providers, and regulatory agencies.
– Assist Administrative leader to develop and achieve budgeted financial outcomes and promote fiscal responsibility, while ensuring the highest quality of care.
– Participate in the development of strategic plan and identification of organizational operating plan priorities.
What You’ll Need:
– Master’s degree in the field of nursing or related field. Licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Iowa.
– Seven or more years’ experience as a nurse or provider; pediatric experience required, including NICU/PICU.
– Five years’ management experience in a related healthcare field.
Specialty nursing certifications preferred (CPN, CBIS, CRRN).
– Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
– Some positions are required to follow CMS and/or OSHA federal vaccine mandates. Both mandates are currently on hold and neither COVID-19 vaccinations, nor weekly testing are required for any positions at this time. ChildServe strongly recommends COVID-19 vaccinations.
