Licensed Nursing Home Administrator

Davis Center, a long-standing 32-bed NF/MI facility located outside Bloomfield, Iowa, is seeking an administrator, due to retirement.

Situated in a picturesque rural setting surrounded by rolling hills, Davis Center offers a family-friendly atmosphere with a close-knit team of health care professionals.

The center specializes in care for individuals age 65 or older who have a primary mental health diagnosis and require nursing care. Davis Center opened its doors as Iowa’s first intermediate care facility for seniors with mental illness, and it has consistently earned a five-star rating from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid based on health inspections, quality of medical care and the time nurses spend with residents. U.S. News & World Report also named it among the top nursing homes in the U.S. in 2015.

Position Responsibilities/Requirements:

· Considerable knowledge of nursing, social case work theory, or psychiatric rehabilitation practices, and their application to people using services.

· A degree in health care administration, health services administration, health care management, health services management, nursing home administration, or long-term care administration is required. Must possess a license to practice as a nursing home administrator with a bachelor’s degree or post-baccalaureate degree program from an accredited college or university.

· Well-versed in the rights of long-term care facility residents and qualified to educate staff in these rights.

· Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with consumers, their families and friends, staff, funders, collaterals, regulatory agency representatives, and the general public.

· Foster teamwork by encouraging cohesion, joint efforts, and interdependence.
Ensure services meet and exceed all regulatory credentialing and accrediting standards including adequate records for consumers and finances. Solicit and review quality assurance feedback from consumers, staff, and funders including data about consumer outcomes. Design, measure, and evaluate improvements and accomplishments.
