Pediatric Homecare

$4000 bonus for full-time roles! $2000 – $2500 bonus for new PRN nurses! We have a variety of schedules available to help children with complex medical needs live and thrive in their homes! No overnights, clinical support from an experienced nurse during all operating hours, and opportunities to learn and grow as a pediatric professional. This 1:1 nursing care provides a slower pace and opportunity to focus all energy on one child, for one shift, allowing for meaningful and rewarding work.

**Current ChildServe Homecare staff are not eligible for the bonus**

ChildServe offers a Nurse Residency Program to support the transition to practice for nurses who have graduated from a nursing program within the past 12 months. If you are hired for an RN full time position with Homecare, you are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Nurse Residency program. The residency program is a combination of online lectures and discussions, a hands-on skills practice, and an evidence-based project all supported by monthly meetings with a Clinical Learning & Development Specialist.

Full time hours are available between multiple homes. Various shifts available within 35 miles of Des Moines metro. There is currently a waitlist for homecare services with multiple families needing care. Hours are varied based on the needs of the families.

What You’ll Do

Provide 1:1 professional nursing services
Assist with personal care and skill development services as needed
Provide education and training to families
Work within the framework of physician’s orders, care team guidelines, and ChildServe policies and procedures as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Exercise professional judgement regarding the medical conditions, health and safety of the children served
Communicate effectively with families, team members, and children through active listening and honest dialogue

What You’ll Need

Current valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa
Documentation of current American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification
Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language
