Skilled Nurse Mentor

Western Home Communities is seeking to add a Skilled Nurse Mentor to join our team. This individual will champion supervising, consulting and assisting nursing assistants and other staff members with their day-to-day duties. Responsibilities:
Provides direct resident care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing
Guides and directs resident care and interacts with all levels of staff affecting resident care
Accurately administers all medications, treatments and physician orders, taking ultimate responsibility for resident care
Effectively communicates resident needs, progress and special problems of care on an ongoing basis with physicians and immediate supervisor
Assists with performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and illness/injury reporting for resident assistants

Requirements:
Graduate of a state board approved RN school
Currently licensed in Iowa
Must have LTC experience and critical thinking skills
Successful completion of state mandatory supervisory course within six months of employment
Current in CPR certification or willing to achieve it
