How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I went to college for therapeutic recreation and that is when I realized I enjoy working with the elderly.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I like seeing the residents smile and laugh, and putting smiles on their faces.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
It’s very rewarding to know that you are making an impact and you are important to someone else.

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also helps you outside of work?
Slow down and listen. Be patient. I try not to be in such a hurry. Stop and smell the roses.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
Doing things with my family and exercising.

What is your favorite quote and why?
Work like you don’t need the money, love like you have never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching.
