Member Spotlight: Anne Rosgaard of Fellowship Village

March 18, 2021

Ever since observing quality health care being provided to her grandparents, Anne Rosgaard knew she wanted to help others in long-term care. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Fellowship Village, Anne enjoys learning from the residents she cares for. Additionally, Anne was a recipient of the IHCA Foundation’s 2020 Member Employee Scholarship. IHCA congratulates Anne and looks forward to seeing all that she accomplishes as she continues her education and career in health care!

How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I started at Fellowship Village in June of 2018. My love for nursing began at a young age from watching CNAs and nurses care for my grandparents when I was little. I wanted to be able to make a difference in people’s lives.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I love that I have been blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside my residents and learn new things. They teach me new things every day, they make me a better person and they are always full of wisdom.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
This career has been so rewarding for me. I have made a difference in people’s lives and I enjoy building relationships with my residents and their families. I have learned so much in the process, and I am confident this experience will help me be a better nurse.

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also helps you outside of work?
It’s the littles things in life that give people the greatest joy.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with family and being outside! I love being active in my church community as well.

What is your favorite quote and why?
“Enjoy the little things in life… for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.” This is my favorite quote because it teaches us to treasure every moment in life, because life is so fleeting. I cherish all of my residents and am so privileged to be part of their lives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I have learned to appreciate the little things because those are the things we too often take for granted.
