Member Spotlight: Ashley Easton of Murphy Place Assisted Living

Ashley Easton became inspired by a family member to work in long-term care. As a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and medication manager, Ashley has a passion for helping others and enjoys taking care of the residents at Murphy Place Assisted Living in Corydon, Iowa.

How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
My mom encouraged me to become a CNA.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
One of the things I like the most about working in long-term care is taking care of the elderly.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
If you have a passion for taking care of others, you should consider pursuing a career in long-term care.

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help outside of work?
I have learned the importance of time management.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my family.

What is your favorite quote and why?
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
