How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
My mom has worked in long-term care for over 30 years, and I have always appreciated how much she helped others, so I decided to help others also.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I enjoy feeling like I am a part of the residents’ families. I like helping people and always being there for those I care for.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
Working in long-term care very rewarding. If you enjoy helping others, you will enjoy this.

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also helps you outside of work?
I have learned patience. You have to have a lot of patience and that has helped me inside my job and outside my job.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with family, four-wheeling, walking and enjoying nature.

What is your favorite quote and why?
“Always take time to stop and smell the flowers.” My mom has always said this to me.
