May 19, 2022

Niyah Morgan, a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Palo Alto County Health System in Emmetsburg, loves working in health care and making memories with the residents.

How did you become interested in the long-term care profession?
Being a CNA was a starting point into the health care field, which I have found I really love.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I like seeing all of the residents’ smiling faces.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
You will make memories that will last a lifetime.

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help outside of work?
We are all human. It’s okay to have good days and bad days. No one is perfect.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I like to play with my dog, Waylon, or read books.

What is your favorite quote and why?
“Go and love someone exactly as they are. And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves.” – Wes Angelozzi
