2023 MolinaCares High School Scholarship Application

This scholarship is for Iowa high school seniors who are in their senior year during the 2022-2023 academic year and interested in pursuing a career in long-term care. This scholarship covers tuition fees to pursue a certified nursing assistant (CNA), licensed practical nurse (LPN), registered nurse (RN), associate of science in nursing (ASN) or bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program for the 2023-2024 academic year. This scholarship is intended for those interested in a future career in long-term care. Nine scholarships will be offered to provide up to $2,000 toward tuition for a CNA, LPN, RN or BSN program. Scholarship applications are due by May 31, 2023.

Compose and upload an essay of up to 300 words. It must be your own work and include discussion on the following: 1) Why you are interested in long-term care (nursing facility, assisted living facility or home health agency) as a career path, 2) Your educational goals related to long-term care and 3) Your career plans specific to long-term care (i.e., nursing facility, assisted living facility or home health agency) once your educational goal is achieved. [Preference will be given to students aspiring to work in long-term care in Iowa.]

Applicants currently enrolled in a college must submit a copy of their most recent transcript. (A transcript printed from the college's official website is acceptable.) Applicants who are newly enrolled students (without an established college transcript) must submit a copy of their program acceptance letter from the college.

Upload a recommendation letter from your principal or teacher. Please ask them to include your name, their name, high school name, telephone and email address in the letter. In the letter, they should describe why they believe you would be a worthy recipient of an IHCA Foundation scholarship. Please limit letters to 200 words or less.

Scholarship Award Terms, Conditions + Terms of Agreement

If the scholarship recipient does not complete the educational program during the time frame for which scholarship funds are provided, any unused funds are to be returned to the IHCA Foundation. If awarded the scholarship, the scholarship recipient grants IHCA permission to publish any information provided in the scholarship application for scholarship fundraising purposes and to use the recipient’s likeness in any photograph or video in any and all of its publications, including television commercials, print advertisements, website and social media entries, without payment or any other consideration.
