Livanta rebranded as Commence Health

Livanta’s Beneficiary and Family Centered Care – Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO) program officially rebranded to Commence Health on Aug. 18, 2025. As this change has now been in place for several months, IHCA is sharing a reminder for providers to ensure internal materials and processes reflect the updated name where appropriate.

Commence Health is part of Commence, a health care technology organization formed through the affiliation of Advanta Government Systems, DOMA Technologies and Livanta. The BFCC-QIO program continues under the same Medicare contract for Regions 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 through April 30, 2029.

What changed with the rebrand:

Providers may have noticed several updates since the August transition:

  • Email addresses now come from the @commence.ai domain; legacy Livanta emails continue to forward but are being phased out.
  • Helpline greetings now identify the organization as “Commence Health, formerly Livanta.”
  • Medical record requests and communications reflect updated Commence Health branding and logos.
  • Beneficiary notices should now reference Commence Health rather than Livanta when new forms are printed or updated.

What stayed the same:

  • Helpline phone numbers and TTY numbers did not change.
  • CMS contracts and review processes remain unchanged.
  • Reviews continue to be conducted by licensed, board-certified physicians; generative AI is not used for BFCC-QIO case or claim reviews.
  • Existing MOAs with Livanta remain valid.
  • Website-based tools (e-LiFT, e-Appeal, Arrow) remain available and functional.
  • Privacy requirements remain unchanged — do not include PHI or PII in email; reference case numbers when needed.

Reminder: Update beneficiary notices as able

Facilities are encouraged to update beneficiary notices to list Commence Health as the BFCC-QIO, including the Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage (NOMNC).

However, it is important to note:

  • Forms that still reference Livanta remain valid and do not invalidate the notice.
  • Providers may continue using existing printed stock until supplies are depleted.
  • Transition to the updated version when reordering or revising materials to minimize confusion for residents and families.

IHCA encourages members to review internal forms, discharge processes and patient-facing materials to ensure the Commence Health name is reflected where possible, while recognizing that the rebrand did not change processes, contacts or contractual relationships.
