IHCA’s updated on-demand Assisted Living Management Certification (ALMC) Program and on-demand Assisted Living (AL) Regulatory Course have officially launched. These programs play a critical role in ensuring Iowa AL communities are prepared to meet current compliance standards while delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
Both courses have been recently updated to reflect current regulations, survey trends and evolving guidance across health care and state legislature, ensuring participants receive timely and relevant training.
IHCA’s on-demand format provides a convenient resource for nurses, nursing facility (NF) administrators and AL managers who are looking to complete continuing education credits, or who may need to satisfy requirements set by Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing (DIAL). Both programs fulfill the Iowa regulatory requirement outlined in Iowa Administrative Code 481—69.29(1).
The ALMC On-Demand Program prepares new and emerging managers with a foundation in areas such as regulatory compliance, risk management, staffing, financial oversight and survey readiness, and provides applicable strategies to meet the operational, regulatory and leadership demands of their role.
Likewise, the AL Regulatory On-Demand Course provides in-depth instruction on Iowa’s AL laws, the DIAL monitoring process, medication management and nurse delegation responsibilities. Participants gain practical strategies for meeting regulatory requirements while supporting quality of care and the core values of AL.
As AL regulations and legislative expectations continue to evolve, ongoing education is essential in supporting a coordinated, informed approach to compliance — strengthening both administrative and clinical leadership within AL communities.
