The Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing (DIAL) invites long-term care providers and associations, the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (SLTCO) and the DIAL survey team for its joint training session — Navigating Federal Abuse Regulation Compliance and Survey Trends.
The meeting will be held via Zoom on March 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST. Click here to register.
The session will provide essential guidance on compliance, covering CMS expectations, survey methodologies and enforcement strategies related to resident safety.
The training will cover these key objectives:
- Explain requirements of the Abuse Regulatory Group F600-F610
- Identify types of abuse, neglect and exploitation
- Describe reporting and investigation duties
- Recognize survey risk areas
- Apply regulation to daily practice
- Identification of three of the top-cited deficiencies in the past six months
- Review the most recent survey patterns and trends
- Receive SLTCO perspectives related to the topic of abuse
The training session will have a participation cap of 500 participants, so please register in advance. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Providers are encouraged to register on behalf of their facility and invite their fellow leaders and staff members to attend via their own conference room to reach as many people as would like to participate. Time will be set aside for interactions, scenarios, questions and breaks.
