More than 50 long-term care leaders from across Iowa gathered at the State Capitol last Wednesday for IHCA Day on the Hill, presented by Martin Bros. Distributing Co., Inc. The event brought together nursing facility, assisted living, home care and care continuum professionals to meet directly with legislators and discuss how policy decisions impact residents, tenants, patients, staff and communities across the state.
Throughout the day, IHCA members shared insights from the front lines of long-term care and advocated for the association’s key 2026 legislative priorities, including workforce solutions, strengthening home- and community-based services (HCBS) and ensuring sustainable funding for long-term care. IHCA also facilitated meetings between members and legislative leadership, helping ensure policymakers hear directly from those delivering care across Iowa.

IHCA extends its sincere thanks to the members who took time away from their facilities and organizations to advocate for the profession, as well as to Martin Bros. for serving as the event’s presenting sponsor.
