February 19, 2026

Meet Angelique, Maple Crest’s assisted living director and marketing coordinator, whose leadership has made a lasting impact on residents and the Fayette community. This year marks her 20th anniversary with Maple Crest — a journey that began when she first joined the campus at just 15 years old.

How did you get started in the long-term care profession?

My career began as a dietary aide, where I worked in the kitchen after school during high school. While in college, I was as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and eventually advanced to the role of assisted living director.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?

My favorite part about working in long-term care is the people! I have met some amazing and interesting people during my health care career. I also love that no two days are the same.

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?

If you’re contemplating a career in long-term care, I encourage you to take the leap. You never know what opportunities await if you don’t give it a shot. There are countless avenues to explore within long-term care, ranging from hands-on roles to activities. You might discover a path that you truly love!

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help you outside of work?

The biggest lesson I have learned is life is fragile and precious. I have learned to not take things or time for granted. You have to enjoy all the moments.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?

When I’m not working, I absolutely love hanging out with my husband and kids. We have a blast together, especially when we’re taking care of the farm animals. It’s always an adventure!

What is your favorite quote and why?

My favorite quote is, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do,” by Steve Jobs.
