Call for Presentations

Iowa Health Care Association’s (IHCA’s) 760+ members provide care to improve the lives of Iowans through nursing facilities, assisted living, residential care, senior living communities and home health agencies. IHCA offers a wide range of quality educational opportunities throughout the state of Iowa, which are open to both members and non-members, offering more than 500 CEUs annually.

On-demand and in-person education is provided to a variety of roles and disciplines, including facility owners, corporate management, administrators, nurses, dietary, activity, environmental and social services staff.

The Education and Competency Advisory Council meet three times a year to provide insight and advice regarding education offered by IHCA. The January meeting is used to pick topics for the Spring Education Conference held the end of March and keynote speakers for the annual convention in September. The March and May meetings are used to select the topics for the annual convention, as well as the theme. The council will look for the relevance to the needs of the attendees and the overall quality and timeliness of the topic.

The attendees are experienced and knowledgeable. They expect the most current and highest quality information and to leave with concrete takeaways/resources. The speaker needs to engage the attendees and encourage active participation.

Areas of interest: customer experience, emergency preparedness, infection prevention and control, operational, person-centered care, post-acute care, quality improvement, reimbursement/other payment models, policy/regulatory, technology and workforce/professional growth.
