AAPACN RAC-CT Workshop – May 2024

Program Description

Increase your knowledge of clinical assessment and care planning, completion of the MDS, the regulations surrounding the RAI/MDS process, and managing the PDPM by attending an AAPACN Resident Assessment Coordinator—Certified (RAC-CT®) certification workshop. Having the RAC-CT credential behind your name shows that you are a knowledgeable and capable MDS professional.

RAC-CT certification is the nationally recognized gold-standard in resident assessment in the long-term care nursing profession. By earning this credential, individuals have shown their expertise in skilled nursing facility prospective payment system and minimum data set (MDS 3.0) assessment.

This workshop covers the following content:

• MDS Coding for OBRA and PPs, parts 1 and 2
• OBRA Timing and Scheduling
• Care Area Assessments
• Introduction to Medicare Part A
• Care Planning
• Accurately Assessing Functional Status
• Five-Star Rating System
• Quality Measures
• Managing PDPM in the SNF

COURSE COMPLETION Your workshop registration includes access to the 10 RAC-CT certification exams. To earn the credential, you must pass the final exams with a score of 80% or higher. You will have one year from the date of the workshop before your exams expire.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Registration is completed through the AAPACN website.

AAPACN Membership is not required to complete this certification course. However, AAPACN members receive deep discounts on all AAPACN offerings including this course.  To become an AAPACN member ($163/year) and take advantage of the reduced rate, simply register for the RAC-CT Program plus the AAPACN membership rate. If you are already a AAPACN member, register at the AAPAC member rate.

Jillian Martin, MSN, RN, FNP-C, DNS-CT, RAC-MT Senior Healthcare Consultant for CliftonLarsenAllen LLP.  Jillian has over 18 years of experience and expertise in senior living with MDS management and education, survey readiness and oversight, and payment advisory and quality improvement. Additionally, Jillian has strong cross-functional collaboration ability, combining transparency of communication and leadership for positive organizational outcomes.
