Topic Descriptions

Regulations Review and Survey Readiness for Activity’s
What elements of your activity programs are typically assessed during regulatory surveys? How can we ensure our activity documentation meets regulatory standards? What strategies can we implement to ensure ongoing compliance with activity-related regulations?  These and more questions will be addressed during this informative session.  Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure compliance with activity-related regulations, and to enhance the quality of life for residents through engaging and compliant activity programs.

Activity Care Planning Essentials
This session will focus on integrating meaningful activities into care planning processes to improve resident engagement, quality of life, and regulatory compliance. Participants will be provided with a step-by-step review of care planning best practices, including incorporating the MDS, care planning “styles”, and how to pull it all together with confidence and ease.

Activities for Those with Dementia
This session emphasizes the importance of tailored activities that stimulate cognition, promote social interaction, and enhance overall quality of life for those with dementia. Participants will be provided with a glimpse of life “in their shoes” to better understand the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with dementia. By the end of the session, participants will gain new tools and ideas for activities that will enhance the well-being and quality of life for individuals with dementia.

Activity Professionals “One Good Idea” Exchange
Who’s better to learn new activity ideas from than your peers. During this session, we invite you to share one of your successful, innovative, and fun activities.  The session will provide attendees with new inspirations and ideas that can be implemented in a facilities activity programing. All ideas are acceptable—a craft project, a game or contest, an event or party theme.  Bring your “One Good Idea” to share and possibly win a prize.
