MDS 3.0 Section GG: Understanding the Latest Updates
This session provides an overview of the recent updates to Section GG of the MDS 3.0. Discussion will focus on the revised coding instructions, additional coding changes, new performance measures, and enhanced requirements for assessing patient functional abilities. The session will cover how these changes impact care planning, reimbursement, and compliance.
Value Based Purchasing Program Update
Starting on October 1, 2024, four new measures under the CMS Skilled Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing (SNF VBP) program went into effect, significantly influencing Medicare Part A payment rates beginning October 1, 2026. This session will provide a review of these new measures and how they complement the existing ones that impact rates as of October 1, 2025. Participants will learn strategies to optimize performance across all SNF VBP measures, ensuring their facility is prepared to maximize Medicare reimbursements.
LTC Quality Reporting Program Updates
This session provides an in-depth look at the latest updates to the LTC Quality Reporting Program (QRP). With an emphasis on understanding the new reporting requirements, the changes to existing measures, and the implications for facility performance, participants will learn the latest CMS guidelines, and be provided with best practices for accurate data submission.
There will also be a review of NHSN’s requirements for reporting COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations and cases that involve systematic data collection and submission to monitor and manage the impact of these illnesses.
