Wound Care in LTC – Best Practices for Optimal Outcomes

Program Description

This comprehensive training focuses on advancing wound care expertise in the long-term care setting. Participants will gain essential knowledge in Assessment and Diagnosis, including identifying wound types and stages, and will explore evidence-based Treatment and Management approaches tailored to the LTC population.

Preventative care will be highlighted through Prevention Strategies designed to minimize wound occurrence. The training will emphasize the importance of Interdisciplinary Collaboration for effective wound management and will cover critical aspects of Regulatory and Documentation Compliance to ensure quality and compliance with CMS standards.

This training program is designed for clinical staff, administrators, and care teams dedicated to improving outcomes and elevating the standard of wound care in their facilities.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand Wound Assessment and Diagnosis: Participants will be able to accurately identify various wound types and stages, enhancing diagnostic capabilities in the LTC setting.
  • Implement Evidence-Based Treatment Protocols: Attendees will explore and apply advanced, evidence-based treatment and management approaches tailored specifically for the LTC population.

Speaker Bio

Brittany Case, RN, NHA, serves as the Director of Education and Quality Assurance at Wound Care Plus, LLC. In her role, she develops and implements comprehensive education programs designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of clinical staff in patient care practices. Brittany also oversees quality assurance initiatives, ensuring strict compliance with state and federal regulations. She conducts thorough audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implements corrective action plans to enhance overall care quality and operational efficiency.
