Assisted Living Management Certification Program – April 2026

Description

This program certifies participants to serve as an Assisted Living Manager in the state of Iowa, meeting the training requirements outlined in Iowa Administrative Code 481—69.29(1). It is designed for individuals who are either preparing to become an assisted living manager or who have been serving in the role for six months or less and still need to complete a Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing (DIAL)-approved training program.

Participants will explore a wide range of topics critical to operating an assisted living community, including regulatory standards, clinical practices, operational procedures and leadership development. The training emphasizes practical application of the rules and equips managers to respond confidently to surveys, support staff and enhance tenant care and satisfaction.

• Managing Behavioral Expressions in Dementia
• Assisted Living Regulations Review and Monitoring Process
• Medication Management in Assisted Living
• Nurse Delegation and Employee Training Essentials
• Operationalizing the Assisted Living Rules and Responding to Survey Results
• Life Safety/Fire Safety – Building Standards
• Emergency Planning for Assisted Living Settings
• Human Resource Management

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be certified as Assisted Living Managers in Iowa and prepared to lead with confidence, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and high-quality care for tenants.

Monday, April 6              8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 7              8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8       8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 9            8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Continuing Education Credit

This program is approved for 24 contact hours for:

Registration Fees

Members:     $595 per person
Non-Members:         $1,250 per person
