Life Safety, Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Seminar 2026 – East
Program Description
Life safety and fire safety compliance remain a critical priority for long-term care providers. IHCA’s Life Safety and Fire Safety Workshop will provide practical guidance to help facilities prepare for Life Safety Code surveys, strengthen emergency preparedness planning and better understand regulatory expectations.
Sessions will cover common Life Safety Code survey issues, inspection, testing and maintenance requirements and strategies for preparing for and navigating life safety inspections. Participants will also review CMS emergency preparedness requirements and the disaster management cycle—mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery—with an emphasis on proactive planning to protect residents, staff and facilities.
The program will conclude with a panel discussion addressing current regulatory trends and participant questions related to life safety compliance, emergency planning and response, water management and other critical safety considerations impacting long-term care providers.
