Director of Development

1st shift: Full-time opportunity available

DUTIES: Collaborates with WHC COO, Director of Administrative Services and the Western Home Development council to establish fundraising goals. Provides organization and direction to the development council and volunteers as well as other community leaders in order to achieve foundation goals. Contributes to, implements and monitors foundation budget, annual appeals, special projects and Fresh Wind Ministries position endowment. Helps develop public relations materials to tell the WHC story, build the WHC brand, and promote contribution programs.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Minimum of 5 years of management, fund raising, and/or planned giving experience. High language, high math and high reasoning ability. PC knowledge and financial software knowledge is helpful. Spreadsheet and word processing software expertise required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers. Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Comfortable with public speaking and presentation skills are required. Equivalent experience in a not-for-profit environment.
