Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary. Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff. Communicating with families, residents, providers, and physicians as needed.

Sets and tracks departmental goals and objectives.

Sets nursing schedule.

Supervises, trains and evaluates nursing staff.

Hires and onboards new nurses.

Provides direct patient care when necessary.

Investigates patients complaints.

Maintains a stocked inventory.

Designs and manages continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Ensures that all guidelines , regulations and standards are followed.

Excels at relationship building and has strong leadership skills.

Develops strong relationships with patients and their families and has an excellent bedside manner.

Works calmly in high pressure situations.
