2025 Care Initiatives New DON Scholarship

This scholarship is made for new directors of nursing (DONs) who are employed by an IHCA member facility and are interested in attending the DON Fundamentals – A Playbook for New Nurse Leaders held at IHCA Sept. 9-10. This scholarship provides a great opportunity for new DONs to learn, grow and connect with others in the same role.

Applications for this scholarship program will open on March 31, 2025, and close on May 31, 2025.

Scholarship criteria and information
Applicants for this scholarship must meet all the criteria listed below to qualify: 

  • Work as a DON at an IHCA member facility in good standing at the time of application and at the time the scholarships are awarded.
  • Must be able to attend the course in West Des Moines on Sept. 9 and 10.

Submit a complete application form, including an essay and letter of recommendation, by May 31, 2025.

Scholarship award process 

  • The IHCA Foundation Board of Directors will judge qualified applications.
  • Recipients will be notified of the results by the end of July.
