One $3,000 scholarship is available. Applications are due by May 31.

This scholarship, made possible by the John R. and Zelda Z. Grubb Charitable Foundation, is available for an employee of an IHCA member organization pursuing an accredited registered nurse (RN) degree during the 2026-2027 academic year.

This scholarship is intended for an individual who is employed at an IHCA member facility wanting to continue their education and career in long-term care nursing.
Scholarship Criteria and Information
Applicants for this scholarship must meet all the criteria listed below to qualify:

Work for an IHCA member facility in good standing at the time of application and at the time the scholarships are awarded.
Additional Details
This scholarship is intended for an individual who is employed at an IHCA member facility wanting to continue their education and career in long-term care nursing. If selected as a recipient, the recipient must remain employed in long-term care following graduation.

Be enrolled or accepted in an accredited school of nursing, pursuing an RN degree and taking classes during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Submit a complete application form, including a 500-word essay, acceptance letter or transcript and two letters of recommendation, by May 31, 2026.

2026 Scholarship Timeline
- April 15 | Applications Open
- May 31 | Applications Close
- July 31 | The IHCA Foundation Board of Directors will judge qualified applications. Applicants will be notified of the results by the end of July.
- Aug. 30 | Awarded scholarship funds are placed in the care of the recipients' approved educational institution by the end of August to be credited to the recipient’s tuition and/or fees in the 2026-2027 academic year.
