2026 IHCA Board of Trustees Nomination Form

Nominations are now being accepted for members in good standing interested in serving on the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Board of Trustees.

Members interested in running or nominating a candidate for these positions must complete the nomination form at the bottom of this page by no later than July 4, 2025.

Election Timeline

  • July 4 – Nomination window closes
  • Aug. 8 – Voting begins with ballots being distributed to members in good standing
  • Sept. 16 – Voting concludes
  • Sept. 23 – New board leaders elected announced at the IHCA Annual Business Meeting at IHCA's 2025 Annual Convention

Required IHCA Board of Trustees Candidate Qualifications

All candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • For all board positions, the candidate must be employed at a member or a corporation, partnership or organization that owns a member affiliated with IHCA.
  • The member facility must be in good standing with IHCA and compliant with all requirements imposed upon the member under the bylaws, as well as any other rules, policies and procedures of IHCA.
  • For all officer and cabinet positions, the candidate must have been a member of the board of directors at least one of the last three years immediately prior to the election.*
    • *Please note: The qualifications listed above apply specifically to Board of Trustees candidates. Separate nominations for cabinet positions – representing skilled nursing facility (SNF), assisted living (AL), home care (HC) and care continuum providers (CCP) (e.g., single/multi-facility, proprietary/non-proprietary, district chairs, directors-at-large, etc.) – will open in August. Look for additional information and nomination details later this summer.

Board of Trustees Commitment

All candidates must be willing to commit to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Understand the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the organization and to use them as a guide to all decision making.
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Trustees and any special meetings called.
  • Demonstrate leadership by serving in leadership positions and undertaking special assignments willingly when asked.
