Kali Vanweelden began her career in the dietary department and is now a caregiver at Holland Farms in Norwalk. She enjoys learning life lessons from those she cares for and finds her role very rewarding.
How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I started in dietary at a different facility, and later applied to Holland Farms.
What do you like most about working in long-term care?
The thing I like the most about working in long-term care are the life lessons learned.
What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
Having a career in long-term care is very rewarding.
What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also helps outside of work?
One lesson I’ve learned is patience.
When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy being a mom.
What is your favorite quote and why?
My favorite quote is “live, laugh, love.” This sticks with me through everything.
