Sonia Roberts of Holland Farms finds joy in her career in long-term care and enjoys working with seniors.
How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I worked for a staffing agency as a PSK for internal medicine. From there, I was hired as a full-time housekeeper for WesleyLife and loved working with seniors.
What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I love the stories and life lessons of older people. I love sharing and helping them learn new things.
What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
There is beauty in aging and the kind of lessons learned are so vital to future generations.
What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help outside of work?
Everyone has a story, and everyone has highs and lows.
When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy going to concerts, restaurants, farmers markets and theatres.
