Program Description
From Program Foundations to Real-World Application in Long-Term Care
This two-day virtual conference blends foundational knowledge, regulatory expectations, and applied strategies to support Infection Preventionists at all experience levels. Interactive learning—including a guided Annual Risk Assessment activity—ensures participants leave with practical tools they can immediately implement. Infection prevention principles such as hand hygiene and Enhanced Barrier Precautions (EBP) are introduced as a core concept on Day One and reinforced through real-world implementation strategies on Day Two.
Attendees may register for Day One only, Day Two only, or bundle both days for a discounted rate. The two sessions are designed to work together—Day One focuses on building the foundation, while Day Two reinforces those concepts through practical implementation strategies—so participants can choose the option that best fits their role, experience level, and schedule.
Day One – Infection Prevention & Control Foundations
Build or reset your infection prevention program with clarity and confidence. This virtual training is designed for Infection Preventionists who are new to the role, transitioning responsibilities, or looking for a structured refresh. Participants will review the core expectations of the IP role, learn a step-by-step framework for program development, and complete a guided annual risk assessment activity with practical takeaways to support real-world implementation in long-term care.
Day Two – Infection Prevention and Control Applied Strategies
Move from planning to execution with practical infection prevention strategies that work in long-term care settings. This virtual session focuses on implementing infection prevention principles while supporting resident quality of life and maintaining compliance. Attendees will explore approaches to preventing common infections, navigating environmental and operational risk points, and applying best practices across everyday workflows—leaving with actionable next steps they can take back to their facility.
