Member Spotlight: Angie Anderson of Northridge Village

February 16, 2023

Angie Anderson’s passion and dream to help others began in early childhood. As the director of nursing at Northridge Village, Angie provides exceptional care to others every day and has developed a sincere love for helping, providing care and spending time with her residents.

How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I spent most of my childhood with my grandparents while my brother was ill. This developed into a love for the elderly. I also grew to look up to the nurses that helped take care of my brother throughout his childhood.

What do you like most about working in long-term care?
Developing relationships with the residents. I mean, who wouldn’t want the opportunity to have multiple grandma and grandpas?

What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
If you love helping those in need, spending time with the elderly and developing relationships…long-term care is for you!

What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help outside of work?
Don’t ever take a day for granted. Anything can happen at any time. Make sure to spend the time with the ones you love now, don’t wait for tomorrow.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time making memories with my family.

What is your favorite quote and why?
Work hard, stay humble. I have always been a hard worker and was overlooked for some time. I have learned that after being overlooked for promotions in the past to keep working hard and the opportunity will come. Stay humble. If you get caught up in your own position, you often forget about the people that helped get you there and recognized you.
