How did you get started in the long-term care (LTC) profession?
I noticed a job opening as a housekeeper.
What do you like most about working in long-term care?
The things I like the most are the residents and people I work with; we all work well together.
What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
Have heart and be willing to go out of your way to talk to residents and put a smile on their face.
What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help you outside of work?
I have learned to listen and to be caring to everybody.
When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my grandkids, working on my pool and gardening.
What is your favorite quote?
“Life is too short; live everyday like it’s your last day.”
