Alisha Bowen has helped provide quality care to residents as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Pleasantview for over nine years. Alisha enjoys helping the residents and finds her career in long-term care to be very rewarding.
How did you get started in the long-term care profession?
I started a job in dietary at another nursing home before I came to Pleasantview, and I liked it a lot. When I switched jobs, I knew I wanted it to be in long-term care.
What do you like most about working in long-term care?
I really like helping the residents, even if it’s just the little things. I will always be there for them.
What would you tell others to encourage them to consider a career in long-term care?
It is a very rewarding job and takes a caring and compassionate person.
What lessons have you learned working in long-term care that also help you outside of work?
I have learned to be patient and respectful toward others.
When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my family.
